Welcome to Mockingbird, where we are proud to represent truly some of the “best of the best” in contemporary jewelry design. We feature the designs of German design collective Niessing and Norbert Muerrle, both leaders in the industry for innovation, alloys, craftsmanship and design. Here you’ll find unique jewelry available in nine colors of 18K gold, rich 22K and 24K gold, and platinum, not to mention stainless steel and even industrial black rubber with diamonds.

My work with Niessing began in 2002 when I was hired to be part of the team of Niessing’s flagship store in the U.S. located in Scottsdale, Arizona. It was an exciting time to bring contemporary world-class design to a dynamic market that received the “Niessing Concept” with open arms. My position allowed me to train with Niessing in Germany, to conduct Niessing trunk shows throughout the U.S., and to assist with the opening of their second concept store in the United States, Niessing Los Angeles. The unfortunate closure of the Niessing galleries in the U.S. led me to eventually open my first store, The Golden Barrel, in Phoenix, Arizona, in late 2008.

Working in the designer jewelry industry over the years has been an exciting path that has allowed me to work with some outstanding world-class jewelry designers, some of whom have been awarded numerous international design awards of innovation and achievement. In addition to Niessing and Norbert Muerrle, some of the artists we represent include Carl Dau from Berlin whose sleek stainless steel jewelry line is unforgettably industrial and ingenious, and Belgian designer Hubert Verstraeten and his design collaboration Tamawa made from colorful contemporary bakelite. Also of note, the sleek and affordable stainless steel line of rings and jewelry from Austria’s Humphrey offers distinctive, modern and wearable jewelry to fit any budget.

Now, in 2021 I am thrilled to welcome back designer André Ribeiro whose work in black rubber set with diamonds is the definition of cool. André created his unforgettable line of jewelry over 30 years ago. It broke the boundaries of fine jewelry and remains a stand-alone classic today with newly added contemporary designs.

A warm welcome to Kathleen Bryant who has brought in her handmade jewelry from her Black Wing Jewels line. A long time Jerome resident, many visitors to our little town have become clients and collectors of her work over the years. Her line appeals to the free spirit in all of us.
